A: Senator Edward M. Kennedy was a senior U.S. statesman. He cared about and supported the development of China-U.S. relations. We extend our deep condolences on his unfortunate passing away. Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi has sent a telegraph to Senator Kennedy's family to extend sincere solicitude.
