Q: Recently, there are many media reports about the cooperation between the Government of Guinea and China International Fund Ltd. It is said that the Fund is an international company registered in Hong Kong. Do you have details of the cooperation?

 

A: We have taken note of the recent intensive reports by western media on the cooperation the Government of Guinea may have with China International Fund Ltd. The Fund is an international company registered in Hong Kong. Its investment in Guinea is completely its own corporate behavior. The Chinese government has nothing to do with its business operations, nor does it have knowledge of the specifics.
