1.All documents emanating from Canada to be used in China should be done as follows: A. Document(s) should first be notarized by a notary public or a lawyer; B. Secondly be legalized by the Department of Foreign Affairs Canada or local provincial authorities (for address please refer to the back of the page); C. Finally be authenticated by the Chinese Embassy or Consulates-General. 2. Documents originating from the Provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan and Northwest Territories should be authenticated first by the Govenment Office(see below) and then authenticated by Consulate-General of the PRC in Calgary: Suite 100, 1011-6th Ave., S. Documents for the authentication by Chinese Consulate General in Calgary should be accompanied with the photocopies of each page in the documents, the photocopies of the applicant's personal identification documents (such as passport or citizenship card) and a completed application form. 4. How to submit applications: 1)You may come to the relevant Embassy or Consulate Generals for application, or send a representative to apply for you. No appointment is required. The regular processing time is 4 working days. The authentication fee is registered in the following table. For rush service, additional fee of $50 for 1 working day processing, or $35 for 2-3 working days processing will be charged. Pay by cash, money order or company check when you come to pick up the document at the consulate. 2) Mailed applications are not acceptable. 5. Fees for document authentication: A. $30 per document for documents such as Birth Certificate, Death Certificate, Working Experience and Professional Title, Kinship, Affidavit of Financial Support, Marital Status, Marriage Certificate, Divorce Certificate, Personal Identification, and documents concerning Adoption.
