The Chinese Government has announced 3 days of national mourning from May 19 to May 21 for the victims of the May 12 earthquake in Sichuan Province and all Chinese people are asked to observe 3 minutes of silence from 2:28pm on May 19 Beijing Time. During the Mourning Period, the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Calgary, together with the other Chinese oversea missions, will keep the national flag half-mast and suspend all public amusements, and a condolence book will be opened to the public in the Consulate General from May 19 to 21.
