At 2:28pm on May 12 local time, a massive earthquake hit Wenchuan County of Sichuan Province of China, causing severe loss of human life and huge damage to people's property. On hearing the news, many people have showed great sympathy and offered to make donations to the disaster-stricken areas. The Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Calgary would like to extend its sincerest gratitude to all those people.
